MEN’S COMBINATION SKIN CARE ROUTINE

Men’s Combination skin usually refers to an oily “T” zone around the forehead, nose, chin and dry skin around the cheeks and eye area. Men’s Combination skin is prone to larger pores and blackheads, spots and blemishes around the T-zone, and small pores elsewhere.  A proper skin routine will address all of these issues.

STEPS: MEN’S COMBINATION SKIN CARE ROUTINE

Step 1: Cleanse

Why? Remove dirt and oil your skin naturally collects.
When? Twice a day, morning and night.
What? Jack Black Pure Clean Facial Cleanser

Use a cleanser that’s better suited to oily skin. If your skin is feeling too dry or tight after cleansing, then you might need to experiment with a different brand.

Step 2: Tone
Why? Remove dirt and oil missed when cleansing, and prime the skin for moisturizer.
When? Twice a day, morning and night, after washing your face.
What? Baxter of California Herbal Mint Toner

Toner can help to remove excess oils and prime skin, allowing moisturizers and serums to apply more evenly and penetrate deeper into your skin.

Step 3: Treat
Why? If you want to target a specific issue, such as fine lines and wrinkles, or need an extra boost of moisture, then look at adding a serum to your routine.
When? 1-2 times a day, after toning.
What? Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate

Like the vitamin-packed shot you add to your juice, serums are highly concentrated, fast acting and effective.

Step 4: Moisturize
Why? Restore and trap moisture in the skin.
When? Twice a day, morning and night, after toning and/or applying serum.
What? Biotherm Homme Aquapower Moisturizer

Try to keep life simple and avoid having to use two different moisturisers on the different areas of your face. Choose an oil-free moisturiser to help control oils in the T-Zone. If your moisturiser doesn’t contain any SPF, always apply a sunscreen afterwards.

Step 5: Exfoliate
Why? Remove dead skin cells, revitalize complexion and prep the skin for shaving.
When? 2-3 times a week, after cleaning and before shaving.
What? Acure Facial Scrub

Dead skin cells will cause oil to build-up under the surface, which is what can cause pimples. Regular exfoliation will keep everything clean and new. Avoid large, hard particles that could irritate dry skin patches.

Extras: Face Mask
Why? Remove dead skin cells, revitalise complexion and clear impurities.
When? 1-2 times a week, after cleansing.
What? Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Detox Mask

A detox mask will get into your pores to clear out oils and impurities that a cleanser can’t reach. Focus application on the oily areas.
